This guide provides quick steps for diagnosing and resolving common touchscreen issues, such as unresponsiveness, inaccurate touch inputs, or calibration problems. Follow these tips to identify the cause and restore full functionality to your touchscreen device, ensuring smooth and accurate operation.

To begin, you must identify whether the station is an All-In-One unit or a computer tower utilizing an external Touchscreen display.

All-In-One Touchscreen

First, click the windows button in the bottom left and search for "Pen and Touch" then select "View pen and touch info".

This will show whether the computer is recognizing the built-in touchscreen. Use the below screenshots to see which applies to your system.

Touchscreen is not recognized

If your touchscreen is not being recognized, check for any pending Windows updates. Once the updates are installed, restart the PC and allow the updates to complete. If problems persist, contact SMRT Support for further troubleshooting.

Once the computer has recognized the touchscreen, if you're experiencing unresponsiveness or inaccurate touch inputs you can calibrate the touchscreen by following these steps:

  1. Click the Windows button and search for "Calibrate" and select the following option.

2. Once the windows has opened, select "Calibrate".

3. A Cross Hair will appear in the corner of the screen, use your finger to press on each cross hair as the appear to complete the calibration.

4. Once complete, navigate to SMRT and test for better results.

External Touchscreen Monitor

Touchscreens that are used as external displays require an extra cable for touch functionality, compared to normal monitors. This means the touchscreen will require 3 total cables for proper operation.

  • Power Cable

  • Display Cable (Ex. HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort)

  • USB-A to USB-B Cable

If your touchscreen will not power on, ensure the power cable is properly connected to the touchscreen and wall outlet.

If your computer and touchscreen are powered on but not showing a display (black screen), please ensure the display cable has a secure physical connection to both the touchscreen and computer.

If your display is on but not reacting to touches, ensure the USB Cable is securely plugged into both the computer and touchscreen and restart your computer.

To calibrate your external touchscreen, use the manufacturer provided driver

  • Bematech/Logic Control: eGalaxyTouch

  • ELO Touchscreens: ELOConfig

*Note: Contact SMRT Support if you're having trouble locating the driver or require an installation.
