What this covers: the notes your staff add to a customer, an order or an item, and where each one shows up: the Assembly Ticket, the popup on the customer profile, the Delivery App and the production stations.
Where it's set up: Settings → Detailing & Pricing → Notes. You can also search for Alert Subtypes in the command palette. You need the Manage System Settings permission.
The key idea: what you pick in the Issue dropdown, the sub-type, decides where a note appears. Each sub-type has its own Show In list.
Two kinds: Notes and Issues
Open a customer and go to the Notes tab. The toggle at the top reads Issues / Notes / History.
Note | Issue | |
What it's for | An instruction or preference, like "Hand Press" or "Door Code Instructions" | A problem or complaint to resolve |
Fields | Category, Issue (the sub-type), Description, Photos | Issue, Assignee, Due date, Description, Photos |
Category | Any category except Problem or Complaint | Always Problem or Complaint |
Follow-up | Stays until someone closes it | The assignee gets a message and a reminder for the due date. It stays open until it's resolved. |
Only open notes and issues show up anywhere below. Once one is closed or resolved, it stops printing and stops popping up.
Three levels: customer, order and item
A note belongs to whatever you created it from:
Customer note: added from the customer profile. It applies to everything for that customer.
Order note: added from an order.
Item note: added from a single garment.
The level changes where a note can show up. For example, an item note only prints for that item.
The Show In options
Edit a sub-type in Settings → Detailing & Pricing → Notes and you'll see Name, Category, Show In, Offload to a specific Metalprogetti Arm and Active. Show In can include any of these:
Show In option | Where the note appears |
Printed Assembly Tickets | Printed on the Assembly Ticket (the bag ticket) and highlighted on the item info ticket |
Customer Clothestracker | Opens in a popup when staff open the customer |
Delivery App | Shows to drivers on the stop |
Pressing Module | On the item card when the item is scanned at Pressing |
Inspection Module | On the item card at Inspection, and on the item bagging screen |
Spotting Module | On the item card at Spotting |
Alteration Module | On the item card at Alterations |
Washing Module | On the item card at Washing |
A sub-type can have several options ticked, or none. With none ticked, the note only appears on the customer's Notes tab and in the yellow note boxes described below.
1. Print on Ticket: the Assembly Ticket
Notes print when their sub-type has Printed Assembly Tickets ticked.
What prints: open notes on this order, plus open customer notes. Customer notes print on every order.
Item notes: when Show Extra Item Details On Ticket is turned on (under Receipt Settings), item notes print under their item instead of in the main note area.
Wash & Fold orders also print Customer Request notes, even if that sub-type isn't ticked. That's how a note typed while creating a Wash & Fold order reaches the ticket.
If you've never changed this setting: Print on Ticket and No Collar Stays (All Shirts) print by default.
Item info ticket: notes ticked for Printed Assembly Tickets are highlighted. Other open notes on the order and item print as normal.
Metalprogetti conveyor labels work differently. The label printed at the assembly conveyor only includes notes whose sub-type is Print on Ticket. It ignores the Printed Assembly Tickets tick box. If you tick another sub-type for tickets, that note prints on the Assembly Ticket but not on the conveyor label.
2. Popup on the customer profile
Notes appear in a popup when their sub-type has Customer Clothestracker ticked.
When it opens: once, when staff open the customer and land on Clothestracker. Refreshing the profile later doesn't open it again.
What's in it: open notes for that customer whose sub-type is ticked. They can be on the customer, an order or an item.
What's left out: automatic Customer Ticket and System Ticket issues, and notes on deleted orders.
If nothing matches, no popup appears.
This isn't the same as the yellow note box. Every customer profile has a yellow sticky-note box with all open customer notes, whatever their Show In settings. Order notes appear in a yellow box on their order in Clothestracker. Only the popup is controlled by Customer Clothestracker.
3. Delivery App
Drivers see open notes whose sub-type has Delivery App ticked. In the POS delivery view, notes your staff created today also show, whatever their sub-type, so a same-day instruction reaches the run.
4. Production stations
When an item is scanned at Pressing, Inspection, Spotting, Alterations or Washing, the item card shows open notes ticked for that station. They can be customer, order or item notes, and any photos attached to them show too. Item bagging uses the Inspection Module option.
Notes the system creates
Some notes are created automatically, not by your staff:
Order Processing → Auto: notes the system adds to an order.
Problem or Complaint → Customer Ticket: created from customer messages. For example, a late reply to an opt-in text, if you have that turned on.
Problem or Complaint → System Ticket: created by the system. For example, when a customer registers an account.
Customer Ticket and System Ticket issues never appear in the customer popup.
