If the cash drawer is not popping, first confirm that the cash drawer cable going from the drawer to the receipt printer is plugged in securely at both ends. If it is, follow these steps based on the two possible scenarios:

  • Receipt printer does not work and the cash drawer does not pop

    1. If this is the case, submit a support ticket from the POS and a technician will contact you to fix the printer, which is likely the cause of the cash drawer problem.

  • Receipt printer works but cash drawer does not pop

    1. Click the Windows icon in the very bottom left corner of your screen and begin typing "Control Panel". Click on the Control Panel in the list of results above.

    2. Next select "View devices and printers." If your view is different than below, try changing "View by:" to "Category."

    3. Scroll down to where the Printers are listed. Right-click your receipt printer (check printer itself for the model if unsure) and select "Set as Default Printer."

    4. Test the cash drawer again. All should be well, if not, submit a support ticket through the POS and a technician will get in touch with you.
